You’re really passionate about your work – you see it as a real gift to help others in the world. You have a website that is reaching some people, mostly when they meet you offline and you pass on your details.
But you just don’t feel your website does you justice. It feels outdated and you’re reliant on the developer who built it to make any changes for you. This isn’t working – it’s difficult to get hold of them and you need to update your services on a regular basis so that your site is current.
Worse still, you feel embarrassed about giving out your website address, and if you do, you are probably apologising that it is not up to date.
It’s like you are wearing the wrong clothes to an event…
Your site isn’t reflecting who you really are and you don’t know what to do to change this.
It’s quite normal that you feel quite stuck. What is your next step, how do you get started on updating your site? Is this even the right move, or should you be looking to start again from scratch?
Many people in your situation never get past this feeling. After all it’s difficult to contemplate redeveloping a website if you don’t feel tech-savvy and know the right questions to ask, or even know whom to approach.
You’ve searched online, and sadly, despite best intentions you can’t find a web developer with examples of working on sites for a business like yours. You don’t think anyone you’ve found so far would really “get” the heart-centred nature of your work – their portfolios look “too slick and corporate”, something that just doesn’t feel like you.
It’s really important to you that the developer you work with understands you – shares your values, knows where you are coming from – just “gets” you – and so far you haven’t found that person.
I feel proud to have a more professional presence and I have benefitted from people finding me on the web and then getting in contact. I see websites as the modern day ‘shop front’ and you want them to inspire confidence with your existing and future clients. I have received enquiries from people who have found me because of the work Kate did which has been great.
I loved working with Kate. She brought all the elements I needed together and then project managed the process in a friendly and professional way. She was really good at sign posting what needed to happen next and thinking around obstacles which often occur with website projects. She was always cheerful and upbeat and went to great lengths to make sure that I was happy with the final project. She also helped me understand the new features with training. I would wholeheartedly recommend Kate to anyone about to embark on building their own website. She makes it simple.
Aisling Burnand MBE
Imagine if you were working with a website developer who really understood you…
Who asked the right questions and explained the technicalities in plain English. Someone who not only helped you get clear on what to do next, but held your hand throughout the process. (It can feel scary to put your online business home in the hands of someone you don’t know!)
It’s actually important that the person designing your new site REALLY understands your business, and you work TOGETHER to plan the site journey for your visitors so that your online home is inviting, develops trust, and makes it as easy as possible for people to work with you.
I know what it’s like to feel embarrassed that your website doesn’t reflect you anymore…
It was probably fine when it was built, but since your business has developed (and often moved in a different direction) it no longer feels like you. Even worse you don’t have control of your website and are completely reliant on getting hold of the developer who built it to make any changes!
I want to live in a world where as a heart-centred solopreneur you don’t feel stuck with a website that doesn’t reflect who you truly are, so I’ve created a Bespoke Website Package which starts with helping you (and me) gain clarity on your biggest asset – yourself.
We can then work together to develop a beautiful and functional website that shows who you are, attracts your perfect people, and enables your small business to develop and thrive. A site that I will train you to manage in the long term, empowering you with the skills to have full control of your online home.
I certainly feel more confident about sharing my site. I think Kate has caught exactly what I was trying to achieve with it. Interestingly another company approached me and put something together after I’d had my new site up and running for a year and I absolutely hated what they produced. This shows for me the value of working with someone who takes the time to understand you and your business.
Things didn’t always go according to plan, but I always think that’s when you see the real character of the person you are working with. I found Kate to be honest, authentic. Generous with her knowledge and incredibly patient. She kept the project moving forward at the right pace and I am very happy to continue working with her as the need arises.

What’s included in the Bespoke Website Package?
Strategy Session by Skype
I want to find out all about you and your business – what makes you tick, what you love about your work, the perfect people who are your clients, and why you are passionate about sharing what you do with the world.
We have 90 minutes for a heart-to-heart conversation – your passion for what you do will be amplified, and I will gain complete clarity on what you stand for, your Big Why.
By the end of the call we will have a plan of action for your new online home – the what, where, why, and how it’s all going to come together smoothly.
I’m in charge of the overall design and build of your site and work with trusted colleagues – a graphic designer and copywriter – should you need help with these elements. (Some clients already have their logo/branding and finished copy ready – many others need help with the images and words that reflect who they truly are).
I will start the site build just as soon as I have the logo/branding and copy ready.
It’s important that your perfect people can stay connected with you easily, so I will always ensure you have a clear email list sign up on your site. (We can of course discuss free gifts, if you want to offer one). The whole process is managed smoothly using MailChimp, my favourite email list software.
My graphic designer will work with you to develop a logo/branding that perfectly represents, who you are.
We will look at how you want to use visuals on your site – from strong images or sliders for the Home Page, to a lovely portrait for your About Page.
Stuck for words? Don’t worry, help is at hand. Your initial draft copy will be given clarity and sparkle so it reflects what you stand for, and speaks to your perfect people. Your offer will be crystal clear, and visitors will know exactly what to do next to stay connected AND work with you.
Search engine optimisation (or “getting found on Google”) is essential if you want people to find you online. I will research for the keywords your perfect people are using to search for you, and ensure everything is set up in the “back end of your site” so you can reach even more of your tribe.
I will also provide you with a list of the best keywords that you can continue to use when you are blogging (in an authentic, non-salesy way of course!)
Finally, we work together via virtual screen share software so that I can show you exactly how to manage and make changes to your site in the long term. I use plain English (so you won’t be bamboozled by “tech speak”) and I will take all the time required to ensure you leave feeling empowered to really OWN your new online home.
What does it cost?
You will want to budget £2,500 – £3,000 (no VAT) to create your new website, from start to finish.
(This will be at the lower end of the scale if you don’t require logo/branding or copywriting services).
50% is payable to start the project, 50% upon completion.
- Purchase of stock images for your site (only if you choose VERY expensive images!)
- Hosting (I recommend and will help you purchase your hosting, and domain name if you don’t already have one). You will be billed directly yourself – I don’t believe in “making money” on hosting and want you to have full control of your online home.
The people I LOVE to work with are…
- Passionate about their work and making a difference in the lives of their clients
- Connected to their Big Why – the driving force behind what they do
- Clear about their tribe, their offering and their own uniqueness
- Ready to co-create their new online home
- Communicate clearly and give honest feedback
- Can devote the time required to the project
- Happy to take responsibility for providing information, copy, images, and feedback in a timely manner so we can progress smoothly
- Able to articulate what they like/don’t like so that their finished website really reflects who they are
I’m a sole trader running an education consultancy working primarily with national and regional clients, and publishing a range of guides. I just don’t have time to do web-based work myself, so Kate’s support is invaluable.
I was recommended to Kate by a colleague, and once I’d seen Kate’s work, and spoken to her I had no hesitation – it felt as though I was in a safe pair of hands!
My website now gives me a professional and effective presence on the web, with plenty of positive feedback, and a significant number of new clients. I am too busy to do much myself, so Kate has crafted a bespoke ‘Done for You’ package that gives me just the right level of support.
Kate has been unfailingly helpful and always goes the extra mile to make sure that she is delivering exactly what I want, even when she has to research solutions to non-standard problems – she seems to enjoy the challenge!

Let’s get started!
Fill out the form below to book an initial (30 minute) consultation call with me. Let’s get to know each other over a virtual cuppa!
1. How long will it take to get my website up and running?
Usually between 8-12 weeks.
The collaborative process works best if you are able to set aside time during the project to focus on your new online home. Since we will be working together I will need information from you and your feedback at key stages of the site’s development.
2. When can we get started?
Depending on clients already booked in, we may be able to start immediately, or I may have to book your project in for a later date. (Rest assured, I will NEVER over-promise on a start date – honesty and clarity are two of my key values).
3. What support do you offer after my site is launched?
I do my upmost to ensure that everything about your site is working properly ready for launch. However I offer one month’s support after your training session in case you have any questions and to iron out any potential glitches that may occur.
4. What if I need ongoing help down the road?
I offer a Peace of Mind Package to all Bespoke Website Package clients. This involves quarterly support with the “back end” of your site – ensuring you have the latest version of WordPress, your theme, and any plugins used.
You are also covered if you make any updates to your site at ANY time and they knock your site off (it happens occasionally). I will ensure your site is backed up to the last version (prior to the glitch) making sure your online home is back up and running as soon as possible.
Also included is one hour Skype call for any questions you may have.
The cost: £200 per quarter (paid by standing order)
5. What happens once we are ready to start working together (what’s the process?)
If, after the consultation call we decide we want to work together, I will email over my agreement for you to sign/initial and return, as well as my invoice for 50% of the project fee. I ask that you make payment by bank transfer and send me a screenshot to confirm it has been completed.
Upon receipt I will email you my Briefing Questions so that I have a clear idea about you, your business and your perfect people, prior to setting up our Strategy Session.
I will liaise with my designer and copywriter to check their schedules and will put together a timeline for the project, so we both know what is expected and when.
